Tracy Traut

I am Tracy Traut, a Counselor in Valparaiso, IN and I have been working in the mental health field since 2007.  I empower individuals to find their inner voice and become the deepest, truest versions of themselves. My work is highly individualized to meet each client’s needs and goals.
I have extensive experience in the field of substance use disorders, along with a passion for it. I work with individuals in early recovery, as well as those in long term recovery that are looking for extra support. I also serve those affected by addiction, including adult children, spouses, partners, parents and other loved ones. Substance use disorders can be extremely isolating for every person involved and it is important to get the support you need.

Trauma and PTSD are at the core of many issues. Trauma does a funny thing to a person and hijacks your most personal thoughts. You constantly feel worried, on edge, hypervigilant, nervous or anxious and don’t know how to change it. I use a trauma informed care approach which is tailored to each client. As you “drive” through your trauma I will be your “GPS” helping you find your way.

No matter where you have been, your story matters! It is the basis of our work and while we can’t rewrite it, we can turn the page. In our sessions, you will be heard, and your feelings will be validated. You will have a safe place to express yourself without judgement. We will work through past hurts and develop a solid foundation for the future while learning to live in the present.

I will walk every step of this journey with you to ensure that you gain the insight and skills needed to lead a fulfilled future. If this sounds like what you need, don’t hesitate, reach out today.
